Actions API

Published: May 23, 2024

v2024-05-23
Content Lake

The Actions API provides a new interface for creating, updating and publishing documents. It is designed to more closely follow the typical workflows that we see in Studio and when authoring content more generally. The actions provided by the API are higher-level than those in the existing Mutations API.

No action is required, but you may encounter the API in two cases:

  • A future release of Sanity Studio will use the Actions API. This change will be transparent to users but will enable new features in the future.
  • The Actions API may be a better fit than the existing Mutations API for automated workflows that edit and publish documents. This is completely optional and the Mutations API will continue to be supported.
